Macleod and MacCallum North Caledonian League

Bunillidh Thistle v Halkirk United
Couper Park, Helmsdale
1:30pm

Couper Park in Helsmdale is the venue for Bunillidh Thistle v Halkirk United on Saturday. This will be the home side's first outing since the 13th October when they suffered a home defeat at the hands of a rampant Alness United. The Jags will be hoping to rediscover the form the saw them dispatch St Duthus earlier in the season as they look to climb away from the bottom half of the table. The visitors have had a torrid start to the season. The young Anglers have yet to chalk up a league point this campaign but will look to this match as the perfect kick start to their stuttering season. A look back at last seasons results should give Halkirk some much needed confidence, as they got the better of The Jags on both League occasions.

Golspie Sutherland welcome Orkney to King George V Park this weekend looking to keep up their impressive start to the League season. The Sutherland outfit have won all their opening four League matches, scoring 13 goals along the way along with having yet to concede a goal in the league. Manager Andrew Banks will be hoping this excellent form continues on Saturday but will be fully aware of the dangers that the Orcadians will cause. The visitors will be looking to get back to winning ways having suffered defeat away to Invergordon last time out. If last season’s matches are anything to go by then this should be another cracker for the fans on Saturday.

Thurso welcome Invergordon to The Dammies this weekend still in search of their first league win of the season. Stevie Reid’s men, by their own high standards, have had a poor start to the new campaign and will look to Saturday’s match to get their season up and running as they try and pull away from the foot of the league table. Gary Campbell’s Invergordon have had a strong start to the season but will be looking to get last weekends defeat to Alness United out of their systems quickly.
