GOLSPIE Sutherland came from behind to claim three vital points in the race for the league title. Invergordon, with a strong wind at their backs, dominated early on. After a few close calls they took the lead in the 19th minute. Ken Morrison got on the end of an Arron Christie corner to head past Graeme Williamson in the Golspie goal. But Golspie equalised against the run of play in the 26th minute. Grant MacNab raced clear on goal and although his shot was parried by Invergordon keeper Willie Counsell the ball fell kindly for Graham MacNab who sent the rebound high into the net. There was little in the way of goal-mouth incidents in the second half, but the decisive goal arrived in the 72nd minute. A Grant Budge header flashed off the crossbar and Graham MacNab was on hand to scoop the rebound into the net for the winner.

Orkney 3 - 1 Hakirk United
Kirkwall Grammar School 3G

Orkney kept their dreams of retaining the title alive thanks mainly to a strong first half showing. Skipper Owen Rendall gave Orkney the lead in the 18th minute with a stunning strike. Liam Delday doubled his side's advantage in the 35th minute after a mazy run. The Anglers pulled one back eight minutes from the end when Murray Mackay scored direct from a corner. But Aiden Drever restored Orkney's two-goal advantage with practically the last kick of the game.

Thurso 3 - 0 St Duthus

Thurso gained revenge on the Saints for a cup defeat the previous week with a fine all round performance. Rodedy Innes gave the Vikings the lead just before the half hour mark for the only goal of a closely contested first half. Innes Mackintosh doubled the lead early in the second period. But the Vikings had to wait until stoppage time to seal victory via a Benn Murray goal.

North Caledonian League
Alness United 5 - 0 Bunillidh Thistle
Highland Football Academy, Dingwall

Alness United were another team to turn the tables on their opponents this weekend. United had been beaten on penalties by Bunillidh in a cup tie the week before, but it was United who went on to dominate this one this one once they got their noses in front. United's Mikey Grimes broke the deadlock on the stroke of half time. Jack Hudson added a quick-fire double early in the second period before a Mikey Rae goal put United out of sight. Hudson completed his hat-trick 10 minutes from the end to cap a five-star display.
